Photography has the power to unlock a deeper way of seeing and experiencing this life.
Creative Vision Training focuses on helping you unlock your way of seeing beyond literal representation to an imaginative world of metaphors, emotions, and experiences.
Would you like to learn how to see more creatively?
Would you like to take your photography to the next level?
Are you interested in growing both your photography and your connection to the natural world?
Then commit to making this your year to start a more meaningful relationship with nature!
Imagine experiencing the natural world in which everything is interesting: ordinary elements - water, rock, plants, and light - become extraordinary elements in abstract compositions. Creative Vision Training focuses on helping you unlock your way of seeing beyond literal representation to an imaginative world of metaphors, emotions, and experiences.
Creative Vision Training takes place in my beautiful and diverse home state of Colorado - where most of my photographs are made. We visit ordinary places with incredible photographic potential that challenge your creative decisions and offer countless creative choices to create personally expressive photographs. My goal is to help you discover the extraordinary in the ordinary.
Creative Vision Training is offered as Group Workshops and Individual Training, intended for photographers of all skill levels with digital or film cameras rather than phone cameras. My teaching partner for Group Workshops is Tim Benko. Tim is an experienced commercial photographer whose clients include Planet Bluegrass, CU Sports, and more. Tim loves to print his own images and is passionate about bringing digital images to life on paper.

Individual Creative Vision Training
One-on-one training immerses you in a field setting of discovery of who you are as a photographer, as an artist, as a person who lives in and moves through this world. Together, we stretch your creative boundaries and expand your own vision for who you are and what you are capable of creating.
Through in-depth fieldwork that includes side-by-side photography, mindful exploration, demonstrations of experimental techniques, formal image design, and image critique, I help you develop a responsive creative process to design expressive photographs using natural elements. With a flexible itinerary, we visit many of the same local Colorado locations where I have made some of my finest images.
Individual Creative Vision Training typically lasts 2-8 hours depending on your goals and, depending on fieldwork locations, may or may not include travel time. Post-processing classroom lessons are available on an hourly basis. Scheduling is flexible.
